Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 21-05-2025

Yellara Technology Solutions Private Limited (“YELLARA“, “we“, “us“, or “our“) values your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and safeguard the information you provide when using YELLARA.com (the “Platform“) and any services offered through it. It also outlines your rights regarding your personal data. We adhere to applicable Indian laws, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and related rules, to ensure your data is protected.

Information We Collect

We collect various types of information from users of our Platform, including:

  • Personal Information: When you register or use our Platform as a Customer or Freelancer, we collect information such as your name, contact number, email address, postal address, and any identity verification details (e.g., government ID, photographs) you provide. Business customers may provide company name, industry, and contact person details.
  • Profile and Service Information (Freelancers): If you register as a service provider, we collect information about your skills, qualifications, experience, certifications, and any other details you add to your profile. We may also collect your availability, service areas (locations), and bank account or payment details for processing payouts.
  • Booking and Transaction Information: When a service is booked through YELLARA, we collect details of the request such as service category, date and time, location of service (which may involve collecting address or location data via Google Maps integration), order value, and transaction details (payment method, status).
  • Usage Data: We automatically collect certain information when you visit our Platform. This includes your IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, dates and times of visits, and referral URLs. We use cookies and similar technologies to gather this data (see Cookies & Third-Party Tools below).
  • Communication Records: If you contact us for support or participate in chat or call features on the Platform, we may keep records of those communications (including call recordings or chat transcripts) for quality and training purposes.
  • Location Data: With your consent, we may collect precise location information from your device or via address inputs (for example, to show available services in your area or to route providers using mapping services). You can choose not to share precise GPS location through your device settings, though this may limit functionality.

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • To Provide and Improve Services: We process personal and booking information to facilitate the services you request. For example, customer details and service requirements are shared with the chosen Freelancer to carry out the service, and Freelancer profile information is shown to prospective customers. We also use data to improve our Platform’s functionality, user interface, and service offerings.
  • Account Management and Verification: Personal information is used to create and manage user accounts, verify identities (especially for Freelancers or business users), authenticate users during login, and maintain profile pages. This helps ensure a safe and trusted marketplace.
  • Communication: We use your contact information (email, phone) to send service confirmations, updates about your bookings, invoices or receipts, and important service-related notices. We may also send notifications about changes to our terms or policies, or in response to your inquiries.
  • Marketing and Promotions: Where you have provided consent or as permitted by law, we may use your email or phone number to send promotional communications about new services, special offers, surveys, or newsletters. You can opt-out of marketing messages at any time by using the unsubscribe link in emails or contacting us.
  • Payments and Transactions: We use financial and transaction data to process payments for services through secure third-party payment gateways. We do not store your sensitive payment details (such as full credit card numbers) on our servers; these are handled by our payment partners. Freelancer payout details are used to remit earnings.
  • Safety and Legal Compliance: Information may be used to monitor for fraud, abuse, or security issues. If necessary, we will use and disclose information to comply with legal obligations under Indian law, resolve disputes, enforce our Terms and Conditions, or protect the rights and safety of our users, Freelancers, or the public.

Cookies & Third-Party Tools

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience on our Platform. Cookies are small files stored on your browser that help us remember your preferences, understand user behavior, and secure your sessions. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings; however, disabling cookies may affect certain functionalities of the Platform.

We also utilize third-party tools and services to operate and improve YELLARA:

  • Analytics: We use tools like Google Analytics to collect information about usage of our Platform. These analytics services use cookies and other identifiers to help us analyze how users use the site, which pages are popular, and how marketing campaigns perform. The data collected is aggregated and does not directly identify individuals. This helps us in improving the Platform and our services.
  • Maps and Location Services: Our Platform integrates Google Maps APIs for address lookup and location-based services. For example, when entering an address or viewing the location of a service provider, Google Maps may collect data as per its own privacy policy. By using location features on YELLARA, you agree to Google’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for map services. We only use location data to connect customers and Freelancers in the vicinity and to display service areas.
  • Payment Gateways: We rely on reputable payment processors (such as banks or payment gateway providers) to handle online payments securely. These third parties may collect or receive your payment information (credit/debit card details, UPI, etc.) when you complete a transaction. Payment providers have their own privacy and security policies, and we share only the necessary data with them to execute transactions.
  • Hosting and Form Services: YELLARA.com is built on third-party platforms (including WordPress for our website and Zoho for certain forms and customer relationship management). This means personal data you submit (for example, through registration or inquiry forms) may be stored on servers managed by those providers. We ensure that these service providers are bound by contracts to protect your data with adequate security measures and confidentiality. They will only use the data for providing services to us and not for any other purposes.

Please note that third-party tools may collect information independently through your browser or device. We do not control third-party tracking technologies, but we do contractually require such providers to adhere to privacy best practices. By continuing to use our Platform, you consent to the use of cookies and third-party tools as described above.

Sharing of Your Information

We treat your personal information with care and do not sell or rent it to third parties. However, we may share information in the following circumstances:

  • With Service Providers (Freelancers) and Customers: If you are a Customer booking a service, we share the necessary details of your request (such as your first name, service location, and requirements) with the selected Freelancer so they can fulfill the booking. If you are a Freelancer, we share your profile information (name, photo, qualifications, ratings, etc.) with Customers seeking services you offer. We do not share contact details between Customer and Freelancer until a booking is confirmed, and even then only as needed to facilitate the service (for example, sharing phone number for coordination).
  • With Third-Party Vendors and Partners: We share information with trusted third-party service providers who perform functions on our behalf. These include payment processing companies, cloud storage and hosting providers, analytics providers, email/SMS delivery services, customer support tools, and map service providers. They are provided only the information necessary to perform their specific services and are contractually obligated to keep your information confidential and secure.
  • With Business Partners (for Business/Staffing Services): If you engage with YELLARA for business staffing solutions, we might share certain details of candidates or freelancers with the business client (such as skillset, experience, and possibly anonymized or limited personal info until further in the hiring process) as required to facilitate a placement. All such sharing will be with consent and for the purpose of providing the contracted service.
  • For Legal Reasons: We may disclose personal information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such access, preservation, or disclosure is reasonably necessary to (a) respond to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal process, (b) enforce our Terms and Conditions or other agreements, (c) investigate or assist in preventing security or technical issues or illegal activities (including fraud), or (d) protect the rights, property, or safety of YELLARA, our users, or others.
  • Business Transfers: In the event that YELLARA Technology Solutions Pvt. Ltd. is involved in a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will ensure that the new entity will continue to be bound by terms that are at least as protective of your privacy as those described in this policy, or we will notify you and obtain consent if required by law.

We strive to limit the personal information we share and ensure that any third parties we work with uphold privacy standards in line with ours and Indian regulatory requirements.

Data Storage and Security

Your personal data is stored and processed on secure servers operated by us or our service providers. We employ appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption of data transfers (using HTTPS/TLS), firewalls, secure server infrastructure, and strict access controls to data on a need-to-know basis.

Internally, we ensure that employees and agents who handle personal data are trained in confidentiality and data protection. While we strive to protect your information, please note that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. Therefore, although we work to safeguard your data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. You are also responsible for keeping any login credentials confidential and for notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. For example:

  • Account information and profiles are kept for as long as your account remains active. If you decide to delete your account or request deletion, we will remove or anonymize your personal data, except for information that must be retained for legal or regulatory reasons (such as transaction records for accounting/tax, dispute resolution, or fraud prevention).
  • Information related to service bookings and transactions may be retained for a minimum period as required under applicable laws (for instance, financial records may be kept for audit or tax compliance for a number of years).
  • Communications with customer support or grievance reports may be retained until the issue is resolved and for a reasonable period thereafter in case of follow-up needs.
  • Usage data (analytics) is typically retained in aggregate form. If retained in identifiable form, it will be for a shorter duration necessary for analysis.

After the retention period, or upon your request (where applicable), we will securely delete or de-identify personal data so that it can no longer be linked to you.

Your Rights and Choices

We respect your rights regarding your personal data. Under applicable Indian law, you have the following rights and choices:

  • Access and Update: You may access and update certain personal information by logging into your YELLARA account and editing your profile or settings. For any information not directly editable by you, you can request that we provide you with a copy of your personal data held by us and/or request corrections to any inaccuracies.
  • Withdraw Consent: Where we rely on your consent to process personal data (for example, for receiving marketing communications or for collecting precise location data), you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. You can opt out of marketing emails by clicking the unsubscribe link, and adjust your device settings to revoke location access. Please note that withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of data processing already carried out, and it may affect your ability to use certain services (e.g. if location is needed for a feature).
  • Request Deletion: You may request deletion of your account or personal information. Upon such request, we will delete or anonymize data that we are not legally required to retain. Some information, as mentioned in Data Retention, may be kept for legal compliance. We will inform you of the extent to which we can fulfill your deletion request.
  • Opt-Out of Communications: You can opt out of promotional emails or SMS by using the opt-out mechanism provided in those messages or by contacting us. Transactional and essential service communications (like booking confirmations or policy updates) may still be sent as they are necessary for our contractual obligations to you.
  • Grievance Redressal: If you have any concerns about how we handle your data or your privacy rights, you have the right to file a grievance. Please see the Contact Us section below for how to reach our Grievance Officer.

Exercising your rights is typically free of charge. To protect your privacy and security, we may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before fulfilling your request (for example, asking you to confirm control of your email or phone number).

Consent

By using the YELLARA Platform or providing your information on our website, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. You also acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy. Where you provide information about someone else (for example, if you are a business providing contact data of an authorized person, or a user providing someone else’s phone number for emergency contact), you confirm that you have the authority to do so and to permit us to use the information in accordance with this Policy.

In certain cases (particularly for sensitive personal data or information), we will explicitly seek your consent at the time of data collection. For example, we may ask you to consent to the use of your location data, or acceptance of terms when registering as a Freelancer and providing identification documents. By consenting, you agree that we may use and process the provided data for the purposes stated at the time of consent.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update or revise this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we make significant changes, we will notify users by prominently posting a notice on our website or via email (where appropriate) prior to the change becoming effective. The “Effective Date” at the top of this Policy will be revised so you can tell when the Policy was last updated.

We encourage you to review this Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information. Your continued use of the Platform after any modifications to this Policy will constitute your acknowledgment of the modifications and your consent to abide and be bound by the updated Policy.
